Doulton Ceramic Water Filters brings its heritage and expertise in the field of drinking water treatment to the domestic home with the Doulton HCP and HIP. These two units coupled with a choice of two filter cartridges give unparalleled choice and versatility in both style of units and cartridge performance.

Cartridge Options:
Each of the two Doulton Ceramic Water Filters can be supplied with a filter cartridge, tailored to the amount of the protection you decide is necessary.

The Doulton - Ultracarb filter cartridge, provides all the protection of the outer ceramic filter barrier, designed to remove harmful cysts such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia and other solid matter; together with the water treatment capability of the carbon core, to remove Chlorine as well as those other unpleasant tastes and odors, with the added benefit of a Lead Reduction Compound - to reduce toxic lead at a concentration of 150ppb from the water for up to six months, or 600 gallons.

In the Field of water treatment, the range offered by Doulton Water Filters gives the cheapest, quickest and most frugal alternative to bottled water, distilled water and "Reverse Osmosis Units". The integrity of the (bonded) carbon technology used, gives more uniform performance than a traditional granular activated carbon filters and the ceramic shell can easily be cleaned, to restore reduced flow due to blockage.

Doulton - The Best Option

All the systems are rated to give at least six months use based on the usage of a typical family (see data for rated capacities*). The systems will supply 0.5 gallons of purified water per minute at typical mains pressure. The versatility of choice, allows you to chose the system that best fits your needs.

Reliability - Both housings have been tested and verified against the pressure integrity requirements of NSF Standard 42 & 53.

All materials have been verified as suitable for their intended use, by virtue of satisfactory toxicological extraction testing. The structural integrity of the cartridges have also been verified against NSF Standard 42. These cartridges are listed in their own right as components under NSF Standard 42.

Today’s modern ceramic water filter utilizes the combined advantages of a high-tech ceramic shell, with advanced Carbon Technology.

Ceramic Shell
The ceramic shell exhibits a strictly controlled pore structure, so as to provide efficient sub-micron filtration, a proven defense against hard shelled parasites such as Cryptosporodium as well as removing other less harmful, but equally unpleasant particulate debris, such as rust and dirt. This physical ceramic barrier, also has stabilized silver, bonded to the ceramic in a unique process, which inhibits the multiplication of the bacteria within this portion of the filter and therefore eliminates the need for regular sterilization of the element. The physical properties of the ceramic are controlled, to enable flow to be restored by simple cleaning, if the surface becomes blocked with contaminants.

Bonded Carbon Insert
At he the heart of the filter cartridge, is a high density activated carbon core, that aids in the removal of Chlorine and other odors and improves the taste of the purified water for up to 1000 gallons for Supercarb. The inclusion of a Heavy Metal Removing Compound gives the Ultracarb cartridge the additional benefit of reducing virtually all the Lead, a toxic heavy metal, that can leach into the water supply system from such sources as old mails, pipes and household plumbing. The Ultracarb cartridge has a capacity of 600 gallons.

Do not use where the water is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
